Martin Nyarko resides in Yakima, Washington. He is currently an Art Instructor at Yakima Valley Community College and teaches courses in Art Appreciation. Martin graduated from University of Idaho with a Master of Fine Art in Studio Art. His MFA emphasis is in sculpture. He received his BFA from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana with a first class honours award in painting and sculpture with emphasis in sculpture. His art involves a playful assemblage of found objects. Using various cultural iconography and narratives, he brings viewers to a place where conventional materials are glorified into precious possessions.
